Erling Haaland, Robert Lewandowski, Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Lamine Yamal are highlighted by FIFA as they pursue records this year.
Cristiano Ronaldo could make history as the first man to reach 950 official career goals. The 39-year-old currently has 916 goals, having scored 43 for Al Nassr and Portugal in 2024. Meanwhile, Lionel Messi, in second place, stands at 850 goals.
Lionel Messi has the chance to become the first player in history to win 50 team titles. Known as ‘The Atomic Flea,’ he currently boasts 45 titles—34 with Barcelona, six with Argentina, three with Paris Saint-Germain, and two with Inter Miami. In 2025, Inter Miami will compete in the Leagues Cup, MLS, Concacaf Champions Cup, and FIFA Club World Cup™, while the Albiceleste are set to face Spain in the Finalissima.
